Kendal or KD is from Warren, Michigan originally from Detroit Michigan. Her love for music and songwriting, in general, stemmed from her dad emerging her in music at such a young age. KD always hung around her father because he had a lot of CD collections so she took note of that and just mimicked the way the artists sang and used it in her writing. 

Songwriting is KD's favorite pass time but she's also an artist.
How did she get her nickname? She got it from some high school friends, they always called her Kdeezy or sunny D, so she shortened it and just came up with KD.
